What makes your romantic dinner a magical one?
You know that feeling when you are having dinner with your special someone, that nothing else exists? That the world has stopped moving and it’s just the two of you? And you want to make it last as long as possible? There’s nothing like a special location with great food and magnificent wine to help. So, where to go in Dubai to make the world stop turning?
Here are our suggestions of romantic restaurants in Dubai
There is no blog on romantic restaurants in Dubai without Pierchic (Al Qasr at Madinat Jumeirah). So here goes – Pierchic’s location out on stilts in the ocean makes it unbeatable. The well-prepared seafood dishes and excellent wine list just add to an already extraordinary experience. And even though it’s fine dining and hard to get a table, it remains just welcoming and casual enough that you don’t feel out of place.
Thinking of re-creating a bit of French romance in Dubai? Try the UAE’s version of the Bateaux that run on the Seine. Operated by JA Resorts, the glass boats offer spectacular views of Dubai from the Creek, whilst serving a gastronomic four-course menu. There are not too many tables, and the staff know their stuff, so it makes for a very romantic and intimate evening.
Similar to Pierchic, 101 at the One & Only The Palm is beautiful because of its setting alone. Set on the water with a big outdoor terrace and a stylish indoor bar and restaurant, the views and serenity are hard to match. Combine that with Mediterranean fare, delicious cocktails and well chosen music and I am sure that you and your date will forget about everything else.
Another long time favourite for special occasions, Pai Thai at Al Qasr is set on the waterways of Madinat Jumeirah. Getting there alone is a romantic treat with the Abra. The romance continues with delicious Thai food and twinkling lights all around.
Eauzone at the One & Only Mirage has a similar setting but on the beach. The wooden majlis style design seems to be floating on water, and reflects the candles and lights of the restaurant which serves Asian food. If the night is still young and you don’t want to go far, walk over to Jetty Lounge, the Caribbean style beach bar at this lush resort. With tables spread far apart it’s private enough for a romantic cocktail.
Ewaan Lounge at the Palace Downtown offers private cabanas set by the pool for drinks and mezze. The pool is softly lit with lanterns and candles, and in the background the fountain cascades. Although it is set in the heart of downtown, it feels like an oasis of calm!
The Burj al Arab’s beach club, Majlis al Bahar offers a more casual affair. Set in the sand, with big chairs and cushions, lots of lanterns and candles. They serve simple, but tasty beach club fare, you can watch the sun go down with a cocktail in hand. Due to its exclusivity, Majlis doesn’t get too busy. You can manage to get a table out on the beach, which feels like a world away from everything.
Mina A Salam has its own version of the romantic beach club at Shimmers. Set on the beach with spectacular views of the Burj al Arab. Dig your toes into the sand and sit back while listening to the waves!
Looking for something even more private? The Beach House at Anantara on the Palm offers you a private stretch of beach for your special dinner, serving fresh seafood at your candle lit table. Your personal waiter will make sure that your every need is catered for.
Last but definitely not least, Shangri-La has only a few tables on their lesser known 42nd floor Private Terrace. Also with a personal waiter, you can enjoy views of the Dubai skyline with the iconic Burj Khalifa front and center whilst sipping on a lovely glass of wine and staring into each other’s eyes. Let’s keep this one a secret, ok?
