Sit outside, watch the sun set and dip your toes in the sand at one of these great outdoor dining options!
The weather is just lovely these days. Even with some clouds and rain in between, the temperatures are so enjoyable you want to spend as much time outdoors as you can, because before you know it summer will be here again. And Dubai has some great places for casual, laid back outdoor dining and drinking! Here are our top 10 picks!
We’ve tried a few Brazilian grill places around town. But Frevo remains our favourite. The food is just excellent, from the soup to the salad bar, and of course every single piece of meat that passes your plate is top notch. Some grilled pineapple to top it off. Overlooking the hotel grounds, and with a view of the skyline makes it even more enjoyable.
This outdoor dining venue A little oasis in the middle of the city. Set in the hotel rooftop garden, there are little cabanas in the open space. The menu internationally oriented with nice mezze platters, meditteranean comfort food, indian dishes and freshly grilled options. And they have sticky date pudding for dessert. Need we say more?
The best part about Beachcombers is that you can eat with your feet in the sand. Getting Malay, Singaporean, Chinese, Thai and Japanese treats from the buffet just adds to the joy of this outdoor dining option. It’s a no-fuss family-friendly casual place, perfect for a lazy evening.
We’ve written about the Edge before. And for good reason. It’s simple done well. A nice terrace by the pool, a great small but very tasty buffet with ample options for starters and desserts. And most importantly, live grilling at the BBQ with lots of choice for meats and seafood. What more could you ask for?
Another outdoor dining venue with a good BBQ menu. Look out over the ocean or watch the people on the beach. Sip on fresh fruit juice, or some of the classic cocktails prepared by the bartender. Order some fish from the BBQ, sit back and relax. Wavebreaker is just that kind of place.
Another place where you can eat with your feet in the sand. In the meantime, your food is freshly grilled and the mains come with delicious crispy fries. There are lanterns nearby and it’s quiet. Watch the skyline and twinkling lights while you sip on a glass of red wine that goes well with your steak. And even better, play some pool after dinner in the hotel bar.
Watching the yachts and boats bob on the water while the sun goes down and the sparkly lights go on all around you. A modern rustic touch to the tables and parasols. A simple menu with a lot of comfort food and great cocktails. If you were planning to have a drink here before dinner you may end up having dinner here instead!
The Hilton Doubletree is popular for its weekend brunch, and on weekends the pool bar is always busy with cocktail-sipping hipsters. But come evening, Areia, situated next to the pool, is an oasis of calm. Watch the sunset while you enjoy some fresh salad and appetizers from the buffet. Then order some meat and seafood from the grill and enjoy the peace and quiet.
It’s the best of both worlds. Amazing pizza and outdoor dining with a great view over the ocean, the Palm and the yachts sailing by. It’s a family place, but at the same time also a great venue for a romantic evening with the fairy lights and views.
Amaseena is just magical. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it from afar, walking towards it from the hotel. Set in the grounds of the hotel, near the beach and away from any noise, with tents and beautiful lighting, it looks like it came straight from 1001 nights. The buffet has a nice selection of starters, mains and desserts, all freshly prepared, and a BBQ with well marinated meats, and on seafood nights, a good selection of prawns and fish. The best part are the Chefs. They take you on a tour, explaining everything, making sure you have enough warm bread and fresh manaeesh on your table, grilling more meat and fish than you asked for, and smiling warmly throughout.
