How to enjoy every minute of a fine dining experience.

In Dining to Tell

Even once in a while everyone needs, and clearly wants, to treat themselves. Whether it’s a day at the spa, some sweet treats, or best of all, going out for a top-notch dinner. Sure, you could always stay at home, prepare something yourself (which you don’t do often, let’s be honest here) or give up, order some Chinese food or pizza, and get it over with.  But, that becomes a bit of a rut, and your stomach will begin to ask for better. So, treat yourself to a great night out and enjoy every minute of it.

Here are some tips on how to make the most out of your fine dining experience.

Experiment

Get out of your comfort zone and experiment. Forget Chinese, pizza, cereals, ice-cream, baguettes or whatever you are feeding yourself with on a daily basis. For once – treat yourself, and your girlfriend or boyfriend or a friend to something different. Something you wouldn’t usually try. Try those odd taste combinations that you wouldn’t expect to go well together. The chances of it not being delicious are small, and it will make the evening more memorable and special.

Research

When you finally decide to go out for the night, one question remains – where to go?  Of course, there are lots of places you can turn to for ideas (Dine in the City being the obvious choice!) and where you can search for a specific cuisine or location, and read reviews to get an idea of what to expect. We’ve listed a few ideas at the bottom to get you started.

Dress up

Make a bit more effort to look your best for the evening. Fancy places respect those who make the effort, and you will be rewarded with even better service, and staff going the extra mile. And for you and your company it makes the evening a bit more out of the ordinary. And of course, when you feel beautiful or handsome, it shows!

Reward for a Great Night Out

Tip. If you had the time of your life and had an amazing meal, tip. They may have helped you choose that one dish you’ve enjoyed the most or they may have done their best to find the perfect wine combination for your choices. They made sure your glasses were never empty, and made you feel like a VIP, and all those things together make for a great night out, not just the food. So, reward those that have made it happen!

Enjoy Before, During and After

Revel in looking forward to the evening, and getting ready for it. Savour every bite and moment. And afterwards, go home and digest not just the food but the whole experience. And don’t do it too often – or it will make it less special. Fancy the fancy!
