The best places in DIFC to chill out after a long day in the office

I am a great believer in the after work dinner and a drink, it is a great way to relax, un-wind and shoot the breeze with co-workers in a neutral setting. Coming from Europe it is generally accepted that on a Friday everyone piles out and heads to the nearest establishment for a few hours before starting the weekend. I lived in Korea for a number of years and they even have a word for this, “Hwesik” which literally means after work drinks…although this tends to be a few bottles of soju and some karaoke (fantastic fun).

Even though our friends and family back home don’t believe us living in Dubai is like anywhere else, after a long day of deals and sitting at the desk we also need to kick back. There are so many places in Dubai to do this and one area that always appeals is the financial district, also known as the DIFC.

So here are Keep Dining’s best places to head to for the ideal evening of post work dining in the DIFC restaurants.

DIFC restaurants

The Gramercy

The Gramercy is the ultimate gastro pub location, if you are hankering for a chilled out place to hang out in style then this is for you. They offer a menu of fresh contemporary pub food, with a combination of old favourite, bangers & mash and fish & chips, and some unique dishes with an international influence, have a try of the duck confit with beetroot risotto or the French style Moules Frites. For those of you looking for a bit of a drink at the end of a busy shift then they have a happy hour daily from 5pm until 7pm, enjoy yourselves!

DIFC restaurants

This sultry and stylish Argentinian restaurant provides after work dining in luxury. DIFC restaurants

Caramel

Caramel is a low lit and chic DIFC based restaurant, with live DJs and excellent food, it is not surprising that time and time again it comes up as a favourite location in Dubai. They offer a post work happy hour from Sunday to Thursday, 4pm until 9pm where you can indulge in their very nice drink selection for only 19DHS. It is also worth checking out their menu, as the food is seriously delicious, I would heartily recommend trying their macaroni and cheese bites!

DIFC restaurants

LaLuz

LaLuz is a modern Mediterranean dining experience, with a clean white interior and colourful works of art adorning the walls, this is a fresh place to relax after a busy day.  For those of you looking for a DIFC deal head over to the LaLuz Social, from 5pm until 8pm, for only 105DHS per person you will be treated to either 2 glasses of the famous Mediterranean beer Estrella Damm or 2 glasses of cava, plus you and a friend can have a sharing platter to try out some of their delicious bar bites including croquettes and a delightfully refreshing gazpacho soup.
